I am qualified to offer such expert medical opinions due to my education, training and experience. I have a degree in Medicine from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and a Pharmacy degree from the Auburn University School of Pharmacy, where I received the President’s Award as the number one graduate for that year. I had also attained similar recognition during my junior year.
I have completed an internal medicine internship and residency at the Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. Subsequently, I attained Diplomate status with the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). I attained the status of a Certified Independent Medical Examiner (CIME) in 2000, which relates to additional training and expertise in the performance of disability-impairment examinations-evaluations. In 1999, I attained certification as a Certified Medical Review Officer (CMRO), which relates to training and expertise in the analysis of drug testing results.
I have performed thousands of Independent Medical Examinations/Evaluations, including, but not limited to those for the Veterans Administration (VA), Social Security Disability Adjudication, corporate evaluations, Workman’s Compensation evaluations, private individuals, attorneys, etc.
I have been accepted as an expert witness in the areas of internal medicine and pharmacology/toxicology by both state and federal courts. My medical-legal experience also includes the performance of Georgia Board of Nursing “Medical-Psychological Examinations (MPE).” I have practiced medicine for over 25 years.
